Food Station Cooperates with Solok Regency on Rice Production and Sales

PT. Food Station Tjipinang Jaya (FSTJ) builds cooperation with Solok Regency, West Sumatra regarding rice production development and marketing.

We are also assisting in agricultural science and technology for rice production

Through this cooperation, PT. FSTJ also assists in terms of cultivation. post-harvest, and production. Through its partner's network, PT. FSTJ will distribute rice throughout Indonesia.

PT. FSTJ President Director, Pamrihadi Wiraryo said that he would assist in pearling Solok rice, starting from licensing, rice product design with geographical indications, and marketing Solok rice to all modern market networks.

"We are also assisting in agricultural science and technology for rice production, for example in the use of organic fertilizers. Thus farmers will be more prosperous," he stated in a written statement, Tuesday (3/8).

In addition to the Solok rice business, Solok Regent, Epyardi Asda also offered collaboration to develop other commodities, such as fruits and vegetables. Because Solok Regency has several potential commodities in terms of vegetables and fruits.

For fruits, there are passion fruits, banana, durian, mangosteen, avocado, robusta, and arabica coffee. While for vegetables, there are chili, cabbage, bean, onion, tomato, and potato.

"We are also exploring cooperation related to fruits and vegetable commodities," he added.

The Regent expected Solok rice would not only become premium rice but a special rice commodity, by implementing superior rice breeding.

"Following the initial agreement, Solok Regency has carried out pearling of Solok rice by planting Cisokan and Anak Daro varieties of rice seeds," he explained.

He mentioned that Cisokan and Anak Daro varieties of rice seeds were made through a collaboration between Solok Regency and West Sumatra Food Crops Research Center (BPTP).

"Currently, we have prepared 64 tons of blue labeled rice seeds that will be distributed to all farmers in Solok Regency. Hopefully what we are doing is beneficial for both our farmers and Food Station," he conveyed.

Solok Regency, he continued, would facilitate all farmer groups (Poktan) and expected guidance from PT. FSTJ to develop human resources in Solok. Especially in improving the quality of agricultural products.

"We will immediately realize assistance from Food Station through CSR by providing free nurseries in Solok Regency," he closed.
